Property tax payments were due by January 31st. Monthly penalty and interest charges will be added to unpaid bills. "Homestead Exemptions Not Available" are printed on all residential bills.

The City of Southside Place will be holding an election for Council Position # 2, Council Position #4, and Council Position # 5. Polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 10. Early voting will be conducted at city hall from April 28 - May 6.

CITY OF SOUTHSIDE PLACE TOWN CENTER DEVELOPMENT
The Southside Place Town Center Committee will be interviewing architectural firms in late February and early March. The committee is expected to provide a recommendation to city council at the March or April meeting. The new municipal building should be constructed within 2 years.
BELLAIRE BOULEVARD REPORT
The City of Southside Place would like to remind citizens to please drive with extra caution in the Bellaire Boulevard construction area. Construction will continue until 2010. If you have any questions about Bellaire Boulevard, please call city staff for informative information.
NEW AUDEN/UNIVERSITY WATER LINE PROJECT NEAR COMPLETION
Metro City Construction will complete the Auden/University water line project by early March. This $ 469,000 Capital Improvement Project replaced a 50+ year old waterline.

CITY INFRASTRUCURE REPORT
During the last five years, the city has replaced 50+ year old water and sewer lines in both the residential and commercial districts at a cost of approximately $ 2.5 million.
In March, monies from the Series, 2007 Water/Wastewater Bond Package will be used for new residential water lines on Jardin, Ingold, Harper, Farber, Elmora, Darcus, and Carlon. This $ 1.2 million capital infrastructure project will replace 50+ year old 2" water lines with new 8" lines. New fire hydrants will be placed in the middle of the streets. This construction phase will be completed by the end of summer.
BELLAIRE BOULEVARD CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES
Total Contracting Unlimited is near the intersection of Auden and Bellaire Boulevard at the Shell Technology site. Large drainage box culverts are being placed underneath the roadway. The first phase of the project includes the drainage system and roadway replacement on Bellaire Boulevard between Edloe and Auden.
TXDOT officials have also been notified that the city is ready to start discussing landscaping and lighting features for Bellaire Boulevard once construction is completed. City staff along with a landscape architect will be seeking public input and comments from residents as to the future beautification beginning in the summer months.

HEAVY TRASH COLLECTION SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 12
On Saturday, April 12, the City of Southside Place will provide heavy trash pick-up for residents in the city. Please have your heavy trash on the curb by 8:00 A.M. for pick-up. Heavy Trash is collected twice a year.

Please join your neighbors, councilmembers, public safety personnel and city employees for a hamburger dinner in the park the evening of Monday, March 31st from 6- 8 PM. Topics include: Bicycle and dog registration, public safety displays, roadway construction/infrastructure updates, fire sprinkler and smoke detectors, and child car seat inspections.
